Today, a briefing was held at the Foreign Ministry, at which the representative of the department - Director of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexei Zaitsev - answered questions from the media.
The Moscow Post journalist asked: "What can you say about NATO's position on what not to touch yet, in quotes, that is, to uphold the fundamental act of NATO-Russia 1997? What is the meaning of this document in the current environment? "
Alexei Zaitsev recalled in response that Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov had already commented on this topic during a press conference in Belarus.
Zaitsev recalled that it was not the Russian side that initiated the procedure for breaking this act. He noted that in the legal sense, the document continues to exist.
"Another thing is that he was actually very much discredited by his NATO colleagues, by their actions," he added.
The second question concerned the topic of relations between Russia and the DPR and LPR.
"What are the tasks facing the federal agency Rossotrudnichestvo in relations with the LPR, DPR and other liberated territories of Ukraine?," - asked the journalist of The Moscow Post.
Alexey Zaitsev forwarded the question to the relevant department.
"If possible, ask the question directly to Rossotrudnichestvo. I think they have more to say, "he added.
Recall that this year Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decrees "On the recognition of the Donetsk People's Republic" and "On the recognition of the Lugansk People's Republic."
