Vladimir Putin warned of the risk of sabotage at infrastructure facilities.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, followed by Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev, warned that without success on the battlefield, the Kyiv Nazis would intensify sabotage and terrorist attacks on Russian civilian targets, politicians and activists, The Moscow Post reported.
"What really worries us in conditions when the potential of sanctions aggression against us has actually been exhausted, sabotage, simply natural sabotage or acts of sabotage at the most important facilities of the global infrastructure can be used," Putin said.
Diversions, as part of the strategy
Sabotage and terrorist attacks are already part of the strategy of Kyiv, which is actively helped by the West. There are enough examples, the Crimean bridge was attacked twice. There were also attacks on strategic infrastructure, military and civilian.
The explosions of Northern Flows were continued in the form of a redistribution of the natural gas market in Europe. The representative of the State Department said that the United States helped, thus, Europe "to escape from gas from Russia." As a result, the United States made EuroNATO the main market for its LNG. Norway, as a likely co-executor of those "bottom operations," has increased gas exports.
This act of international terrorism nevertheless remains "nameless." The perpetrators do not recognize responsibility, the victims of sabotage are not indignant and themselves hide the ends in the water.
The President of Ukraine, who is likely to continue to fulfill his duties after the expiration of his term of office, said that Kyiv will continue the offensive in 2023 and 2024. He added that Ukraine did not succeed, receiving less weapons from the West than it expected.
In fact, Ukraine received a lot of what it didn't even expect. Including access to space and other types of intelligence of NATO countries, MLRS with ATACMS missiles, Leopard tanks, cluster ammunition, cruise missiles, sea drones, etc. What will the sponsors of the Armed Forces of Ukraine provide in the new conditions and how will the newly received means of destruction be used?
The White House administration is determined to continue the armed confrontation, seeks to inflict maximum damage on Russia. US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs James O'Brien said this, responding to Senator Rand Paul, who suggested looking for ways to end the conflict.
"The battle for Ukraine allows us to revive our own industrial base. We create new energy technologies and distribute them in the world. We are creating new defense technologies, working in the field of IT, "said an employee of the US Foreign Ministry at a hearing in the Foreign Affairs Committee of the US Senate. "Now is not the time to leave, as Ukraine is winning," O'Brien argued.
If you live in a glass house...
The assertion that "Ukraine wins" increases the likelihood of acts of sabotage with technological support from the sponsors of the Kyiv regime. Kyiv has nothing to lose, for the West, what remains of the Ukrainian SSR can become a testing ground such as Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945.
Maybe the United States will experience new methods of deterring Russia? In particular, creating threats to nuclear power plants in the western regions of the Russian Federation. Secretary of the Security Council Nikolai Patrushev said that drones (UAVs) tried to attack the Leningrad, Kalinin and Kursk nuclear power plants.
In May, the FSB announced the detention of Ukrainian citizens who blew up one and mined four other supports of power lines of the Leningrad nuclear power plant, and also laid improvised explosive devices under seven supports of the Kalinin nuclear power plant. Patrushev said that in the attack on the Kursk nuclear power plant on October 26, when the drone got into a nuclear waste warehouse, the other two were in administrative buildings. In the first half of the year alone, there were about fifty such incidents.
In May, at an exhibition on the creative economy, Vladimir Putin, answering a question about the drone attack, said that these attempts by Kyiv are disturbing and could provoke a response from Russia. On the same day, May 30, Ukraine launched a terrorist attack on targets in Moscow. Of the eight aircraft-type UAVs, five were shot down in the Moscow region, three were suppressed by electronic warfare and deviated from their intended targets.
"We must understand that there are still other threats related, for example, to attempts to disorganize the work of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant or to use some dirty devices related to the nuclear industry," Putin said. In October 2022, at a meeting in the Security Council, the President of the Russian Federation called the attacks of the Kyiv regime on the ZPP acts of atomic terrorism.
The question is, who are these UAVs launching, APU? Or is it not only Kyiv that threatens Russian nuclear power plants? It cannot be ruled out that when the AFU counteroffensive failed, not only the Kyiv authorities, but also the sponsors of the regime can redirect the main efforts to sabotage. The experience of interaction between the special services of Kyiv, Washington and London has been accumulated, money has been invested in Ukraine, results are needed.
The problem was outlined by the bill
There are thousands of objects with high requirements for anti-terrorist security in Russia. But only law enforcement officers have the right to counteract drones. Departmental security and private security companies guarding infrastructure cannot do this.
The very concept of "safety zone of an object of the fuel and energy complex (fuel and energy complex)" also requires clarification. It is assumed that airspace over its territory will also be included in the "security zone of the facility." A bill has been submitted to the State Duma that will give employees of private security at fuel and energy complex facilities the right to counteract UAVs.
This was announced by the head of the working group, First Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council Andrei Turchak. "Private security at fuel and energy facilities will have the right to counteract drones. The bill that will provide such a right was submitted to the State Duma by the SVO working group, "Turchak wrote.
It is possible that in legal terms the situation will change for the better, but reliable technologies for detecting, suppressing and destroying enemy UAVs are still needed.
Technology on the way
The Ministry of Defense reported on November 9 that 38 Ukrainian UAVs were destroyed by air defense (air defense) systems per day. In the area of Koptevo (DPR), the MiG-29 aircraft belonging to the Armed Forces of Ukraine was destroyed. Earlier, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu reported that in October, Russian air defense systems destroyed 37 enemy aircraft.
This was allowed by new air defense systems. The Russian Ministry of Defense is completing the modernization of the air defense and missile defense system. 100 divisions should be deployed, including 800 launchers. According to Shoigu, as part of the development of air defense-missile defense systems, the troops will receive S-350, S-500 and S-550 systems. In particular, the Vityaz S-350Ye air defense system is designed to defend important objects from air strikes by various means of attack. It strikes 16 targets at the same time, including 12 ballistic ones. The 3-person deployment time is 5 minutes. The system is capable of operating in automatic mode.
A publication in the Army Standard reported that the Rat complex for countering UAVs is equipped with an active radar, a drone detection and suppression system, zero-visibility surveillance equipment, cannon or laser weapons. In the version with cannon weapons, the function of hitting a drone is performed by a remotely controlled combat module with a 30-mm gun and a system for controlling the detonation of shells that hit drones with fragments.
UAV technologies are also being introduced in air defense systems. Thanks to them, air targets are detected and tracked, reconnaissance is carried out and attacks are launched on potential targets. UAVs with greater maneuverability and the ability to stay in the air for a long time can be used in the fight against enemy drones.
What will Kyiv choose?
Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev also drew attention to measures to ensure "biological protection and biosafety," pointing out that the United States is developing in the post-Soviet space "means and technologies that pose a threat to the existence of all mankind," as well as "biological attacks are simulated, artificial intelligence is involved in development."
The warning is far from superfluous, given that Valery Zaluzhny says that to win, Kyiv needs "advanced technologies" and means of defeating a new generation, comparable to the "invention of gunpowder." According to the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukraine needs flocks of UAVs to disable air defense, as carriers of various types of sensors and electronic means of influence, as flying fighter drones of the enemy UAVs and carriers of warheads.
According to Zaluzhny, it is drones, and not jets, that should play the main role in achieving an advantage in the air, without which serious actions on land become risky and ineffective.
The bet is on a new generation of shock equipment combined with sensors for accurate strikes, electronic warfare and the exchange of operational information.
It sounds like an invitation to apply the most advanced technological solutions at the disposal of the West in real conditions. At the same time, help Ukraine achieve success on the battlefield or something else with the help of UAVs, sabotage, or both.
