Netanyahu raged

The scandal between Israel and the UN Secretary General once again raises the question of the crisis of the international system of relations.

Israel continues a military confrontation with Lebanon and Iran - through the destruction of Iranian "proxies" - Hezbollah movements. Against this background, it became known that Tel Aviv declared UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres persona non grata - he was banned from entering the country.

Details - in the material of the correspondent of The Moscow Post.

This is the first such decision in international diplomatic practice. And the reason for it in Israel is the lack of an unambiguous reaction due to Iran's missile attack on Israel.

After the shelling of Israeli cities with missiles from Iran on October 1, Guterres wrote on social networks: "I condemn the expansion of the Middle East conflict with a growing escalation. It has to stop".

The official account of the Israeli government responded to the publication of the UN Secretary General: "We condemn your inability to publish a record in which Iran is responsible for launching 181 ballistic missiles at 10 million Israeli civilians."

Immediately after the attack, Israeli Ambassador to the UN Dani Danon, in a letter to the Security Council, accused the Iranian side of trying to destroy Israel with a "ring of fire from seven fronts" and called for condemning Tehran, as well as recognizing the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization.

At the same time, Iran's attack was carried out in response to a series of terrorist acts against Iranian proxies in Lebanon - Hezbollah. The rocket and bomb attacks on Beirut killed almost the entire top leadership of the organization, considering its permanent leader for decades, Hassan Nasrallah. In Israel, this outstanding success of the special services and the military is ironically called "Denasrallization."

All these days, Iran calls on the Security Council to decisively intervene in Israel's actions in the Middle East region in order to prevent a full-scale war. In his letter to the UN Security Council and Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, Said Irawani repeated calls to "urgently and decisively intervene to prevent new war crimes against Lebanon, Gaza and Syria"

Gutterish's recognition as persona non grata reflects several serious trends at once. First, Israel decided to go to the end - and success in destroying Hezbollah, killing the leader of the terrorist organization Hamas, confusion of Iran, Lebanon and their allies again returned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his Likud party ratings within the country. And also provided support for Washington. How long it will last is not clear, the elections in the States in a month.

At the same time, Netanyahu's political future clearly depends on this - after all, these are direct financial subsidies and support with logistics and weapons. Therefore, for Netanyahu personally, it is extremely important that this war remains a success story for him.

And secondly, the role of the UN continues to plummet. And Netanyahu, feeling support from the United States, simply spat on the UN. It turns out that you can wipe your feet about the Secretary General of the main supranational cooperation organization on the planet. Something similar happened with the League of Nations, which could not prevent the Second World War. Voices are growing louder demanding reform of the UN. In particular, to let new members into the Security Council - such as India, Brazil, South Africa.

As for Russia, our representatives said back in 2023 that the UN had lost the meaning of its existence. This statement followed a resolution adopted by UN members to condemn Russia's actions in Ukraine, prepared by Western countries. Now, despite Guterres' statements, no one is adopting any resolutions condemning Israel. And still Guterres ran into criticism of Tel Aviv.

Many experts are convinced that the situation is not so much towards reforming the UN - in fact, few of the large countries of the Security Council members are also interested in this. And about the erosion and even dismantling of the entire international system of relations, which was established after the victory over Nazi Germany - the Yalta system. And so far, the contours of the new system are not visible - the contradictions between the various world centers of power are too great.

Now the fighting is going on in Ukraine. Paradoxically, Russia may benefit from the aggravation in the Middle East. Oil prices went up, although growth was limited. But the main thing is a change in the focus of attention of the American elites to support Israel, which they cannot refuse.

The West is already saying that after the elections, the United States will have to return to the topic of realizing its own interests - and the endless financing of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Kyiv regime without hope of real success "on the ground" is not included in these interests.

In Ukraine, against the background of the capture of Ugledar by Russia and the collapse of the front near the Pokrovsky direction, this position causes hysteria.
