And yet, surprisingly "coincided" - as soon as it became known about the death of Alexei Navalny (recognized as a foreign agent, terrorist and extremist in the Russian Federation), and on the same day Yulia Navalny was at the Munich conference surrounded by the most ardent ill-wishers of Russia. The first violin seemed to be played by the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, a gynecologist who made her way to the tops of European power in unknown ways. There was also the main European diplomat, if you can call him that, Josep Borrell. With Borrell, they sat next to him, he showed with all appearance how fervently worried about the widow.
There, Mr. diplomat agreed before calls for Russia to organize an "independent" and "transparent" international investigation into the death of the oppositionist. What surprised, it seems, even his colleagues.
Translated from "diplomatic," Borrell calls on Russia to abandon sovereignty and the right to conduct investigative actions, as well as to rule the judiciary on its territory in favor of the structures of the European Union and supranational institutions.
It seems that they have not yet reached such impudence. Moreover, we are talking about states leading real hostilities against our country, organizing an economic blockade (albeit a failure), day and night trying to interfere in the internal affairs of the Russian state.
And that's not even the point. And in that transcendental, cosmic level of cynicism that Western politics demonstrated in the situation with this tragedy. As soon as the news of the death of the oppositionist was confirmed, they called for new sanctions, restrictions, a change of power in the Russian Federation by force.
I would like to see how the United States responded to a possible call by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to allow Russian investigators to investigate the murder of African American George Floyd.
If the death of a Russian extremist caused joy to someone, then this is among representatives of his former team, as well as among our former Western partners who use this as an occasion to strengthen the sanctions regime, further demonize Russia through a massive media company that began when the body of the oppositionist has not yet cooled down. All of them received new opportunities for the development of Western budgets.
"This is different" - the death of Gonzalo Lyra
In this regard, I would like to pay attention to another tragedy. In January 2024, it became known that in Kharkov, in the SBU prison, an American journalist and blogger Gonzalo Lira was killed as a result of torture. In recent years, he lived in Ukraine, and after the start of the SVO, he began to cover the course of the conflict and criticize the criminal actions of the Ukrainian authorities and militants. For which he was instantly captured and planted in unbearable conditions.
After sitting behind bars for no reason, Gonzalo Lira was able to convey information about himself. His father urged to pay attention to his situation. In addition, the family sought Lyra's release through appeals and statements to US officials. After all, Lyra is a citizen of this country.
No word, no sound. Not a single mention of his fate. And so, in January 2024, it became known about his death. Should there be any reaction? She's gone. Although Washington could only stomp its leg, and Kyiv would instantly let Lyra go. Didn't.
Why? Because Lira criticized the criminal Kyiv regime.
So what about the fact that a journalist was tortured and killed in Kharkov, for daring to step out of step, for remaining faithful to journalistic duty, simply remained a person in a society where "dehumanization," a culture of hatred of one's neighbor became the dominant motives in the behavior of people?
Gonzalo Lira did not wait for any help or even calls to investigate his death and punish those responsible. Photo: https://rg.ru/2024/01/15/byl-slishkom-chesten.html
And where is Josep Borrell? Where is the gynecologist von der Leyen? The ever-nervous Anthony Blinken, his dementia-stricken chief Joe Biden, all the mendacious-hypocritical camarilla? Gonzalo Lyra is not human to them?
Of course, all these questions are rhetorical. And in this example, as in a drop of water, the whole rotten essence of the modern Western system of "human rights," the institution of the media, absolutely hypocritical and emasculated by the current generation of European leaders, is reflected.
Navalny (recognized as a foreign agent, terrorist and extremist in the Russian Federation) will definitely be remembered. And we urge you to remember Gonzalo Lear with him and others. And do not take the state "howl" from Western European "swamps" too seriously.
