Maria Zakharova: Russia highly appreciates ties with the DPRK in all areas

Today there was another briefing by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova. Traditionally, the correspondent of The Moscow Post asked his question.

The first questions of the correspondent concerned the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as the settlement of the situation between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Maria Zakharova noted that the statements of the leader of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan that the Russian Federation allegedly creates threats to the country's security are absurd. She also pointed out that Russia is determined to a substantive settlement around the Lachin corridor, and not populism. Our country and diplomats continue to work to unblock the Lachin corridor, we need to find an acceptable solution for all parties.

The journalist's third question concerned a recent interview with Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko. In it, the diplomat did not mention the topic of relations between the Russian Federation and the DPRK. The journalist of our publication asked why this happened and decided to get additional clarification.

"What can you say about the humanitarian situation in North Korea?," a correspondent for The Moscow Post asked.

Maria Zakharova pointed out that Andrei Rudenko answered questions on the topic that interested journalists. The material was not "positional" on the part of the Russian Foreign Ministry. The topic of relations between Russia and the DPRK was not touched upon by the journalists themselves.

The Director of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry noted that Russia highly appreciates the current level of friendly relations with its Far Eastern neighbor in all areas. In particular, Pyongyang's support for a special military operation to protect Donbass, as well as close cooperation on other pressing international problems, is noted. As for the humanitarian situation in the country, Maria Zakharova forwarded this issue to the North Korean side.
