Belgrade pots do not decorate

The attempt of the next Maidan, inspired by the Western special services - this time in Belgrade, Russia failed miserably thanks to Russia.

In Europe, they continue to actively discuss the events of last weekend and Monday, when in Serbian Belgrade people dissatisfied with the results of parliamentary elections tried to organize another coup d'etat like "color revolutions."

An attempt to destabilize the situation and cause chaos was thwarted by the authorities under the leadership of President Aleksandar Vucic. At the same time, the Russian special services turned out to be the most active assistance to Serbia - it was they who reported that the rioters fed by Western institutions were planning an attack on the country's government agencies.

Details - in the material of the correspondent of The Moscow Post.

It was precisely an attempt by the "Maidan" - everything is like a manual. Crowds of dissatisfied, filling the main city squares, hot and cookies for freedom fighters. They even brought pots famous for the Kyiv Maidan. And then, as expected, an attempt to storm administrative buildings with an attack on law enforcement officers, stones, bottles and offensive speeches. As a result, 35 people were detained. Pots Serbs were not to face.

The results of the parliamentary elections were summed up on Monday morning. The coalition of Alexander Vucic won - it received 126 mandates in the Assembly, the Serbian parliament. 20% of citizens voted for the opposition bloc "Serbia against violence." Vucic himself was not formally nominated for any post, but his recognition and authority among people played a role. For 44 days of the election campaign, he made appeals to citizens 45 times.

There was another appeal - just about the riots. The President said that there is no revolution in Belgrade, and the protests are inspired from abroad. He urged citizens not to worry and promised to fight the influence of foreign special services interfering in the country's affairs. According to him, law enforcement agencies keep the situation under control.

The significance of these elections, like the political struggle in Serbia, cannot be downplayed. Aleksandar Vucic is an apologist for a cautious and balanced foreign policy, when, on the one hand, Serbia seeks to become part of the European Union, on the other, it pursues its own national interests and maintains good relations with Russia.

It was in order to reverse this trend that a new "Maidan" was needed - this time, in Belgrade. Plus, of course, the hope that the new Comprador elites who came instead of Vucic will instantly "surrender" Kosovo is what NATO has been dreaming of for so long.

The name of the opposition coalition "Serbia against violence" does not fight here. Having failed to achieve their goals peacefully, supporters of this political force instantly used violence. When trying to break into parliament and city hall, windows were broken in the buildings, several police officers suffered from stones flying into them.

The legitimate use of tear gas and batons was launched by another "pattern" familiar from the Kyiv Maidan - children are beaten! Although there were no children - all young and hot people warmed up by Sorov media and radical publics on social networks. And only one thing was not enough for the "Maidans" - "sacred sacrifice." But also, as they say, not evening.

Russia is nearby

And this is far from the first attempt at force pressure on the administration and Vucic. Especially now, amid serious geopolitical tensions and a new round of confrontation with the West regarding Kosovo. He understood the risks, as our special services knew them very well.

And it was the Russian special services that ultimately informed our friends in Belgrade that unauthorized mass protests with a power component were being prepared. What was the surprise of our former Western partners from Brussels and Washington, when the Serbian side not only did not hush up the fact of communication with the Russian security forces, but also publicly thanked Russia for the information provided!

This is a real click on the nose, while it is absolutely demonstrative. Thus, Vucic shows that European integration is European integration, but Belgrade will work with whoever it considers necessary for the interests of its own state. And this is a kind of response to numerous behind-the-scenes attempts to put pressure on Serbian politicians - including on important votes at the UN, which Vucic himself had previously announced.

However, it was Belgrade's position on Russia, the Ukrainian conflict and sanctions that was supposed to become the variable that prompted our former Western partners to launch the process of destabilizing Serbia. As the Russian Ambassador to Serbia later noted (after meeting with Vucic), all discontent and an attempt to rock the power of the President of Serbia, first of all, turned out to be associated with his position on non-alignment with anti-Russian sanctions.

Moreover, despite the protesters' speeches about the alleged violations in the elections, none of them was able to clearly explain what the violations were. Just as at one time in Kyiv, no one could explain why it was necessary to hold a third, unconstitutional round of presidential elections in 2004, which Viktor Yushchenko won.

"Protestants," however, do not calm down. Today, another major rally has been announced near the building of the Republican Election Commission. True, the dissatisfied clearly decreased - they hoped that the protests would cover the whole country, but this did not happen.

In any case, with some stretch, we can say that Russia, if not saved Serbia from the "Maidan," then, at least, seriously helped with neutralizing the consequences of this attempt. However, there is no doubt about one thing - it is definitely not the last. Both Alexander Vucic and Russia are well aware of this. This means that they will be preparing.
